Real Madrid Faces Juventus in Highly Anticipated Champions League Clash

Madrid, Spain – October 20, 2024 – Real Madrid is set to host Juventus Turin on October 22nd at 9:00 PM (Peninsular Time) in a thrilling Champions League group stage match. This will be the first time Juventus has played at the Santiago Bernabéu in 2,751 days.

While the two powerhouses recently met in the Club World Cup, a narrow victory for Real Madrid courtesy of a Gonzalo goal, their last European encounter was the 2017-18 Champions League quarter-final.

Real Madrid, under the guidance of Xabi Alonso, enters the match with high morale, having strung together a series of victories after their setback against Atletico Madrid. Wins against Villarreal, Kairat Almaty, and Getafe have bolstered the team’s confidence. Alonso is aware that the Juventus match will be a key test of their current form, coming just days before the highly anticipated El Clásico against Barcelona. A victory against Juventus would be the best way to assert Real Madrid’s authority heading into the rivalry match.

Juventus, coached by Igor Tudor, faces a challenging situation. After a recent defeat against Como, ending their unbeaten streak, the team currently sits seventh in Serie A.

Real Madrid Squad List

Alonso will be without key players Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold, despite them returning to training. Dean Huijsen, Dani Ceballos, Antonio Rüdiger, and David Alaba remain sidelined.
