NAMAKKAL, October 23, 2025 – K. Ponnusamy, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Senthamangalam constituency and a prominent member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), died today, October 23, 2025, at the age of 74. He succumbed to cardiac arrest after being rushed to a private hospital in Namakkal.
According to sources, Ponnusamy, a resident of Puliyankadu, complained of chest pain this morning and was initially taken to the Kolli Hills Government Hospital before being transferred to a private facility in Namakkal. The hospital confirmed that he was brought in on ventilator support and despite resuscitation efforts, he passed away at 7:30 a.m.
