Dreka Gates Accuses Kevin Gates of Financial Abandonment Amid Divorce, Demands Substantial Support
LOS ANGELES, CA – The divorce between rapper Kevin Gates and his estranged wife, Dreka, has taken a contentious turn as Dreka accuses the hip-hop star of cutting off financial support for her and their two children. According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Dreka is seeking court intervention to compel Gates to pay significant child and spousal support.
Dreka alleges that Kevin Gates began dismantling their family’s financial foundation in late 2021, ceasing payments for essential obligations such as property taxes and their children’s private school tuition. Meanwhile, she claims Gates flaunted his wealth, acquiring 18 luxury vehicles and a $4.7 million estate in Calabasas.
The documents further reveal that their Mississippi farm is facing foreclosure due to a $7 million IRS levy for unpaid taxes. Dreka is requesting the court to order Gates to pay $27,193 per month in child support and $46,274 per month in spousal support.
Adding to the drama, Gates is reportedly challenging the validity of their marriage, claiming they were never legally wed. Dreka is also seeking primary physical custody of their children, asserting that they have spent 95% of their time with her since 2023.
The couple, who reportedly married in October 2015, share two children, Islah, 12, and Khaza, 11. Dreka filed for divorce in July, citing irreconcilable differences.
As of press time, Kevin Gates has not responded to requests for comment. The case is ongoing.
