Thu Oct 23 05:00:00 UTC 2025: India in Crisis After Early Batting Collapse in Adelaide ODI

Adelaide, Australia – India’s batting lineup faltered spectacularly in the second ODI against Australia at the Adelaide Oval after losing the toss and being put in to bat. Xavier Bartlett ripped through the top order, claiming the crucial wickets of Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli in quick succession, leaving India reeling. Kohli, in particular, suffered a second consecutive duck, adding to the pressure on the veteran batsman.

Early wickets put India in deep trouble. Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship with a crucial partnership, facing tough spells from Josh Hazlewood and Bartlett. Rohit Sharma reached his half-century. Shreyas Iyer also contributing significantly.

Australia, led by Mitchell Marsh, dominated the first ODI in Perth by seven wickets. The home side made three changes to their lineup, bringing in Alex Carey, Adam Zampa, and Xavier Bartlett, while India remained unchanged, hoping for a turnaround.

The Adelaide Oval pitch is expected to favor bowlers. The Indian side needs runs on the board.
