Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit Fosters Innovation with Startup Incubation Project

KOCHI, October 22, 2025 – Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit is taking a proactive step to nurture entrepreneurial talent among its students with the launch of a new startup incubation project. Partnering with the Kerala Startup Mission, the university aims to empower young aspirants to transform their innovative ideas into viable businesses.

The project will be spearheaded by the university’s Design Technology Business Incubation Centre, located on the main campus in Kalady. This initiative is designed to provide comprehensive support to students throughout the startup journey.

“We have begun training faculty and students on the various facets of entrepreneurship,” stated R. Ajayan, Syndicate member and chairperson of the Design Technology Business Incubation Centre. “In December, we will challenge our students to develop their own startup ideas.”

A technical committee will meticulously evaluate submitted proposals, identifying those with the highest potential for success. Promising ventures will receive crucial technical and financial assistance from the center. Furthermore, the center plans to facilitate connections between students and established companies or institutions seeking support in diverse areas.

The university intends to capitalize on the unique skills of students specializing in artistic disciplines like painting, sculpture, and murals. By transforming their expertise into viable business models, the project hopes to create new avenues for entrepreneurial success. The university already has experience in this area, with students having previously offered consultancy services, including the creation of wall murals, to institutions such as Kochi and Kannur airports.

Looking ahead, the incubation center also intends to offer consultancy services to businesses through their corporate social responsibility initiatives. This project marks a significant investment in the future of Indian entrepreneurship and promises to unlock the innovative potential of the university’s student body.
