Wed Oct 22 14:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Seehorn and Gilligan Reunite in Apple TV+’s ‘Pluribus’, a Dystopian Comedy

Los Angeles, CA – Emmy-nominated actress Rhea Seehorn, best known for her role as Kim Wexler in “Better Call Saul,” is teaming up once again with series creator Vince Gilligan for a new Apple TV+ drama titled “Pluribus.” The series, already greenlit for two seasons, promises a darkly comedic take on a world where overwhelming happiness becomes a threat.

Seehorn stars as Carol, described as “the most miserable person on Earth,” who finds herself tasked with saving the world from an epidemic of unnatural and unrelenting optimism. The just-released trailer showcases a world of idyllic breakfasts, empty shopping aisles, and excessively friendly neighbors – a stark contrast to Carol’s inherent grumpiness.

The premise centers on a mysterious virus that has transformed humanity into a blissfully content collective, leaving Carol as the sole holdout. Faced with doctors eager to “cure” her, Carol embarks on a mission to understand what makes her different and, ultimately, save the world from the saccharine sweetness.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gilligan teased complications arising from Carol’s unique situation and hinted at the show’s comedic elements. “She doesn’t really want to be tasked with saving the world, but she more or less feels like it’s her duty,” Gilligan stated. He remained tight-lipped about why Carol is immune to the happiness virus, suggesting it might remain a mystery.

Alongside Seehorn, “Pluribus” features a cast including Karolina Wydra (“Sneaky Pete”), Carlos-Manuel Vesga (“The Hijacking of Flight 601”), Samba Schutte (“Our Flag Means Death”), and Miriam Shor (“American Fiction”).

The reunion of Gilligan and Seehorn is highly anticipated, especially given the pair’s successful collaboration on “Better Call Saul,” which aired for six seasons between 2015 and 2022.

“Pluribus” premieres on Apple TV+ with two episodes on November 7th, with new episodes airing every Friday.
