Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck Reunite at ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ Premiere, But Romance is Not in the Cards
New York, NY – October 7, 2024 – Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck sparked speculation of a rekindled romance after a surprise, friendly reunion at the New York City premiere of Lopez’s new musical film, ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ on October 6. However, sources close to the former couple have confirmed that despite their continued support for one another, a romantic reunion is not in the cards.
“Jennifer’s doing well. She’s focused on things that make her happy — family and work,” a source told PEOPLE Magazine. The insider also emphasized that there’s “no romantic reunion with Ben” and that “They’re in a really good place. They continue to support each other. They’re both proud of what they accomplished together.”
Affleck served as an executive producer on ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ through Artist Equity, his production company with Matt Damon. At the premiere, Affleck praised Lopez’s performance and the film’s director, Bill Condon, stating his goal was “to empower great artists and tell moving stories.”
Lopez and Affleck first met in 2002, their initial engagement ended in 2004 and then later rekindled their romance in 2021. The couple married in 2022 but split two years later, with Lopez filing for divorce.
Lopez has spoken candidly about the challenges of working on the film during a difficult period in her personal life. “‘It was a really tough time. Every moment on set, every moment I was doing this role, I was so happy, and then it was like, back home, it was not great.”
‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ also starring Diego Luna and Tonatiuh, will be released in theaters on October 10.
