Caitlin Clark Recovery: Fever Taking Cautious Approach
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is progressing in her recovery from a right groin injury and left ankle sprain, but the team is taking a measured approach to her return. Coach Stephanie White revealed that Clark is not yet participating in full 5-on-5 practices but has been involved in 2-on-2 and 3-on-3 drills.
Clark’s 2025 season was marred by injuries, limiting her to just 13 games. A right groin strain suffered in July forced her to miss the All-Star Game held in Indianapolis, where she was named captain. A subsequent ankle sprain further delayed her recovery, leading to her being sidelined for the remainder of the season.
“We’re not jumping into anything that’s too much,” White said. “We have the ability to right now take it on week-by-week basis… It’s important that we get her back at 100% and that she’s comfortable, she’s confident, that she’s healthy.”
The Fever anticipate Clark being at full strength for the start of the 2026 season. Clark hopes to be ready for the USA Basketball Women’s National Team World Cup qualifiers in March. For now, the focus is on rebuilding her strength and endurance.
