Foodynamics Recalls Pet Food Brands Over Salmonella Concerns
ORLANDO, FL – Foodynamics, a pet food manufacturer, has announced a voluntary recall of several brands of its dog and cat products due to potential Salmonella contamination, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The recall affects specific lots of freeze-dried pet treats under the following brand names: Raw Dog Barkery, BellePepper Cats, Kanu Pets, and What’s In the Bowl.
The FDA warns that pets infected with Salmonella may exhibit symptoms such as lethargy, diarrhea (possibly bloody), fever, and vomiting. Some pets may only experience a decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Even asymptomatic pets can carry the bacteria and transmit it to other animals or humans.
Humans are at risk of infection through handling contaminated products and failing to wash their hands thoroughly afterward. Symptoms of Salmonella infection in humans include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (possibly bloody), abdominal cramping, and fever.
The recalled products were shipped via UPS from Wisconsin to retailers in Wisconsin, New York, and Florida. A total of eight packages were distributed to consumers in these areas.
Consumers who have purchased the affected products are urged to return them to the point of purchase for a full refund.
For further information, consumers can contact Teresa Perry at info@foodynamics.com or by calling 262-421-5339, Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Central Standard Time.
