Champions League Newcomers Kairat Almaty and Pafos FC Clash in Crucial Group Stage Match

Almaty, Kazakhstan – Kairat Almaty will face Pafos FC at the Almaty Central Stadium on Tuesday, seeking their first points in the Champions League group stage. Both teams are newcomers to this level of competition and are aiming to recover from a difficult start to their European campaigns.

Kairat Almaty, despite their dominance in the Kazakhstan Premier League where they lead with 58 points, have struggled in the Champions League, suffering heavy defeats against Sporting Lisbon (4-1) and Real Madrid (5-0). Their coach, Rafael Urazbakhtin, sees this match against Pafos as their best opportunity to make an impact. Kairat are currently on the brink of securing back-to-back league titles.

Pafos FC, fresh off winning the Cypriot First Division last season, currently lead their domestic league with 18 points from seven matches.
