Los Angeles, CA – Reality TV star Jen Affleck, best known for “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” and currently competing on “Dancing With the Stars,” is reportedly battling an illness as she prepares for Tuesday’s “Dedication Night” performance.
Affleck’s husband, Zac Affleck, took to social media to share the news, posting on TikTok: “This week she has been so sick. She hasn’t been able to practice, and has been stuck in bed most of the week.” He requested fans to send prayers and well wishes to support his wife.
The “Dancing With the Stars” star, partnered with professional dancer Jan Ravnik, is scheduled to perform a Viennese Waltz to Lauren Daigle’s “Rescue,” dedicating the routine to her mother, Maria, their children, and “just all the mothers!”
Zac explained that Jen’s mother is currently visiting and has been providing support through homemade meals and care, helping her gain strength to continue in the competition.
Zac has been encouraging fans to leave messages of support, stating that he will print the messages to “decorate Jen’s trailer” with the healing words ahead of the show.
Jen herself confirmed she was under the weather, posting a photo of herself receiving an IV drip. “Couldn’t practice as much this week. With lots of rest and help from Zac and my family, we still pulled something off,” she wrote. “Ironic that my song is ‘Rescue.’ This week tested me in ways I never imagined.” She clarified that she is not suffering from COVID-19.
Affleck’s participation in the dance competition follows the recent birth of her third child, Penelope, just two months ago. She has previously spoken about the challenges of balancing motherhood with the demanding schedule of “Dancing With the Stars.”
Fans can watch Jen Affleck’s “Dedication Night” performance on “Dancing With the Stars” Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC and Disney+, with new episodes available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
