**’Home Alone’ Star Daniel Stern Hospitalized Following Medical Emergency**
**Somis, CA -** Daniel Stern, best known for his role as hapless thief Marv Merchants in the iconic “Home Alone” films, was briefly hospitalized earlier this month after experiencing a medical emergency.
On October 7th, the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a call at Stern’s residence in Somis, California. The 68-year-old actor was assessed on the scene and subsequently transported to a local hospital. The nature of the medical emergency remains undisclosed.
A representative for Stern has confirmed that he has since been released and is currently in good health.
Stern, who has largely stepped away from Hollywood to embrace farm life, revealed in December he now lives on a farm and grows tangerines. Before this he made headlines as he reflected on his experiences negotiating his salary for “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.” In his memoir, Stern recounted how he had to fight for a more equitable deal, ultimately securing $1.5 million and a percentage of the gross profits after initially being offered significantly less than his co-stars, Joe Pesci and Macaulay Culkin. The actor had initially been offered $600,000 for the sequel, double what he made from the first movie, but still millions less than what his co-stars were making.
