**BHADRADRI KOTHAGUDEM, October 14, 2025** – The Sujathanagar police have intercepted a significant drug smuggling operation, seizing 499 kg of ganja with an estimated street value of ₹2.50 crore. The seizure occurred during a routine vehicle check at Vepalagadda village in the Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a container lorry bearing registration number KA38A 6754. A search of the vehicle revealed 96 packets containing the dry ganja. The contraband was reportedly being transported from neighboring Andhra Pradesh to Jaipur, Rajasthan.
Two individuals, identified as Jagadeesh Dayaram Patil, 37, from Maharashtra, and Sanju Kumar, 49, a native of Karnataka’s Bidar district, have been arrested in connection with the smuggling operation.
