Cleveland, OH – In a surprising announcement that sent shockwaves through the music world, legendary Canadian rock band Rush has revealed they will reunite for a headline tour in the summer of 2026. Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson will return to the stage, joined by award-winning German drummer Anika Nilles, for the “Fifty Something” tour. This tour is a celebration of Rush’s iconic music, legacy, and the life of their late drummer and lyricist, Neil Peart, who passed away in 2020.
The news broke at a private event held at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland on Sunday night. Fans were treated to a viewing of Rush’s induction speeches and performance, followed by an interview with Lee and Lifeson.
The tour, dubbed “Fifty Something,” will kick off with two nights at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on June 7 and 9, a poignant return to the venue where Rush played their final show in 2015. The band will then head to Mexico City for a single performance before playing two-night stints in multiple other cities, including Fort Worth, Chicago, New York, and Toronto, before concluding with a single concert in Cleveland on September 17.
The decision to tour was a “very difficult decision” said Lee, acknowledging Peart’s irreplaceable presence. Lifeson added that privately jamming on Rush songs together helped dispel the “dark clouds” and re-energized him.
Peart’s widow, Carrie Nuttall-Peart, and daughter, Olivia, have given their full support to the “Fifty Something” tour. In a joint statement, they expressed their excitement to see the band’s new vision unfold and hear this legendary music played live once again.
Rush intends to hire a keyboard player to give Lee and Lifeson more stage space and plan to rotate through a repertoire of “35, 36 songs” each night. They also reassured fans that Peart would be honored “at least a couple of times during the show in our own way” every night.
