Mon Oct 13 04:59:12 UTC 2025: ## Bengaluru Residents Endure “Life-Threatening” Road Conditions Due to Incomplete Infrastructure Work
**Bengaluru, October 13, 2025:** Thousands of residents and commuters in southern Bengaluru are facing daily hazards as incomplete drain work and severely damaged roads plague the Rayasandra Circle–Choodasandra Circle stretch, as well as Doddamara Road to Kodathi, and Rayasandra Circle to Gattahalli. Open trenches, potholes, and piles of debris have transformed daily commutes into perilous journeys, with residents reporting several minor accidents.
“People are risking their lives every single day while crossing these stretches,” said Nayan Jyoti Bhagwati, highlighting the danger posed by the hazardous road conditions. Suresh Nair, a resident of Hosa Road, emphasized the severe congestion, stating it can take up to 30 minutes to travel just 500 meters near Mahaveer Ranches Apartment due to the dangerous combination of open drains and deteriorated roads.
Residents allege that a jurisdictional dispute between the erstwhile Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Shantipura Gram Panchayat has stalled developmental work for months, leaving citizens to bear the brunt of administrative negligence.
MLA M. Krishnappa has stated that he has directed the immediate resumption of construction and approached the Shantipura Gram Panchayat to secure space for drainage outlets. “The problem will end soon,” he assured.
Work on the long-delayed infrastructure projects reportedly began on October 12 after numerous complaints from frustrated residents. However, the extent of the damage and the length of time required for full repair remain uncertain. The situation has raised concerns about the safety and well-being of Bengaluru residents and underscores the need for improved coordination and accountability between government agencies.
