**Trump Hailed as Hero in Israel After Brokering Ceasefire with Hamas**

Jerusalem – US President Donald Trump was met with thunderous applause and standing ovations in the Israeli Knesset today after successfully brokering a ceasefire and hostage deal between Israel and Hamas. The agreement, which saw Hamas release the remaining 20 hostages, has effectively ended the two-year war that devastated Gaza and claimed tens of thousands of lives.

“This is the historic dawn of a new Middle East,” Trump declared to the Israeli lawmakers, who welcomed him as a hero. He lauded Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s leadership and thanked mediators from the Arab and Muslim world for their assistance in securing the deal. “Now you can be a bit nicer, Bibi, because you’re not at war,” Trump quipped.

Trump also addressed Iran, extending “the hand of friendship and cooperation” and stating that the US is ready for a deal if Iran is willing. “We merely want to live in peace…We don’t want any looming threats over our heads,” he said.

The speech was briefly interrupted by protesting lawmakers who held up a sign reading “genocide,” but they were quickly removed by security. Trump acknowledged the pain and suffering caused by the conflict, stating, “Never forget, and never again,” in remembrance of the October 7 victims.

The ceasefire is expected to be accompanied by a surge of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

Following his address, the speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana, endorsed Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump will now travel to Egypt to meet with President Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi and other leaders to discuss the future of Gaza and the broader Middle East.
