Mon Oct 13 15:38:19 UTC 2025: ## FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

**Bengaluru, India – October 13, 2025 (9:08 PM IST)** – The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is taking decisive action to improve the condition of the Outer Ring Road (ORR), a vital artery for the city’s traffic. Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao personally inspected the ORR today, from Hebbal Junction to Nayandahalli Junction, and issued a series of directives aimed at expediting pending roadwork and ensuring better maintenance of the existing infrastructure.

Key initiatives announced include the immediate completion of asphalting at Hebbal Junction, following the laying of the wet mix. To improve pedestrian safety at the busy junction, a high-rise pedestrian crossing will be constructed. The GBA is also focusing on optimizing public transportation infrastructure, with plans to redesign and utilize unused space near the Hebbal police station for a new bus stand.

Coordination efforts are underway to address challenges in the Bhadrappa Layout flyover area. The damaged service road, currently being developed under the High-Density Corridor Project, will be repaired in collaboration with Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE).

Commissioner Rao demonstrated zero tolerance for civic negligence during his inspection. He immediately contacted the BWSSB Chairman to address water leakage issues and debris accumulation at Kanteerava Studio Junction. He also ordered the removal of footpath encroachments, relocation of a transformer, and penalties for those illegally dumping construction debris.

Finally, in an effort to keep the ORR clean and functional, the GBA has ordered the immediate removal of abandoned vehicles along the road and the identification of a designated parking area for such vehicles.

These efforts underscore the GBA’s commitment to improving infrastructure and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic on the ORR, a critical thoroughfare for Bengaluru.
