**PHOENIX** – A’ja Wilson etched her name further into WNBA history Friday night, earning the WNBA Finals MVP award after leading the Las Vegas Aces to their third championship in four seasons. The Aces completed a dominant sweep of the Mercury with a 97-86 victory in Game 4 at Mortgage Market Arena.

Wilson capped off a stellar performance with 31 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks in the decisive game. Over the entire postseason, Wilson averaged an astounding 26.5 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.1 steals, and 2.5 blocks per game.

“God is good,” Wilson exclaimed while accepting the award. “He’s been working on this team from the jump. For us to be able to celebrate this, it’s truly special. We worked our butts off to get to this point and now it’s time to have some fun.”

This season has been a showcase of Wilson’s unparalleled talent. In addition to the Finals MVP, she also claimed the regular season MVP and Defensive Player of the Year honors, cementing her place on both the All-WNBA and All-Defensive teams.

Aces coach Becky Hammon lauded Wilson’s accomplishments, stating, “I said this when she got her fourth MVP. Who do you have on your (WNBA) Mount Rushmore? She’s sitting alone on Everest. There’s no one around.”

In just eight seasons, Wilson has amassed an impressive resume that includes three WNBA championships, two Finals MVP awards, four regular-season MVP awards, three Defensive Player of the Year awards, two scoring titles, and a Rookie of the Year award.

Wilson is also a two-time NBA champion and will represent the United States at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.
