Officers responded to the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 101 at approximately 10:40 p.m. due to a multi-vehicle accident that had closed several lanes. After reopening the lanes about an hour later, they discovered a Range Rover SUV stopped in the road, south of the earlier crash site, obstructing traffic. Inside, they found Pierce asleep behind the wheel.

Pierce addressed the incident in an Instagram post on Thursday, stating that he had fallen asleep while stuck in standstill traffic.
