Wed Oct 08 23:20:00 UTC 2025: **Brewers Set Roster for NLDS Showdown Against Cubs, Rookies Misiorowski and Gasser Make the Cut, Hoskins Left Off**

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers have finalized their roster for the highly anticipated National League Division Series against their rivals, the Chicago Cubs. The roster includes a blend of seasoned veterans and promising rookies, with the Brewers opting for 12 pitchers and 14 position players.

Among the notable inclusions are rookie pitchers Jacob Misiorowski and Robert Gasser. Misiorowski, despite some struggles following an injury earlier in the season, has been given a chance to prove himself in the playoffs. General Manager Matt Arnold emphasized that Misiorowski’s role will depend on matchups and game situations, highlighting the team’s “all hands on deck” approach. Gasser, who returned from Tommy John surgery in September, could potentially even get a start during the series.

“I think with Miz in particular, look, I think what we’re looking at is Game 1 Freddy [Peralta], and then beyond that it’s just pretty much all hands on deck. I think Miz will certainly be part of that,” Arnold said.

The most surprising exclusion from the roster is veteran Rhys Hoskins. Despite his $18 million salary and extensive postseason experience, Hoskins has struggled to regain his starting role since returning from a thumb injury. Manager Pat Murphy cited the need for Brandon Lockridge’s speed and defensive capabilities as the deciding factor.

“The Rhys [move] is very difficult because he has playoff experience,” Murphy said. “He’s been a leader of this team. It’s a tough decision. But we felt like the need for [Brandon] Lockridge specifically [was important] because of his ability to run, steal a base, his proficiency at it. And his ability to play great defense in the outfield and conduct ABs can’t be denied.”

The Brewers are set to deploy a mix of Andrew Vaughn and Jake Bauers at first base, with Andruw Monasterio providing additional cover. The roster also features a strong outfield contingent led by Christian Yelich and promising rookie Jackson Chourio.

The full roster is as follows:

**Pitchers (12):** Grant Anderson, Aaron Ashby, Robert Gasser, Jared Koenig, Nick Mears, Trevor Megill, Jacob Misiorowski, Freddy Peralta, Chad Patrick, Quinn Priester, Jose Quintana, Abner Uribe

**Catchers (2):** William Contreras, Danny Jansen

**Infielders (6):** Jake Bauers, Caleb Durbin, Andruw Monasterio, Joey Ortiz, Brice Turang, Andrew Vaughn

**Outfielders (6):** Jackson Chourio, Isaac Collins, Sal Frelick, Brandon Lockridge, Blake Perkins, Christian Yelich

Brewers fans are eagerly anticipating the NLDS, hoping this roster can deliver a deep playoff run.
