Thu Oct 09 02:50:00 UTC 2025: **Laufey Dazzles Audiences with “A Matter of Time” Tour, Reflects on Success and Authenticity**
**FORT WORTH, TX** – Icelandic-Chinese singer-songwriter Laufey is captivating audiences on her “A Matter of Time” tour, showcasing her unique blend of jazz and pop in grand, fairytale-esque settings. Currently performing at the Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, the Grammy-winning artist is still processing the scale of her success.
“I really feel like I got to put on the show of my dreams,” Laufey shared, emphasizing the surreal experience of performing for thousands each night. The concerts are divided into four acts and feature a B-stage which she was very strict on including so that she could be closer to her audience.
The elaborate stage design features a staircase, a swing, and a clock that spins, reminiscent of the film *Fantasia*. Accompanied by her band, a string quartet, and dancers, Laufey delivers a dynamic performance that transforms the arena into a jazz club during the second act, where she performs jazz standards and rearrangements of her own songs.
Laufey’s journey to success has been marked by a commitment to authenticity. Born in Reykjavik to a classical violinist mother, she honed her skills in piano, cello, ballet, and figure skating before attending music college and Berklee College of Music. Her breakthrough came with her single “Street by Street” and her debut EP, *Typical of Me*, which gained traction on TikTok.
Last February, she won a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for her second album, *Bewitched*. Despite the recognition, she chose to maintain her artistic independence for *A Matter of Time*, emphasizing her own artistry over elaborate productions.
Laufey aims to introduce her generation to classical and jazz music through her accessible and relatable music. She fondly recalls watching *La La Land* and seeing friends that didn’t listen to jazz music become obsessed with it. She says, “People want to relate to something. They want to feel like something is close to them. The reason why so many of our stars are so big is because they’ve built a whole platform off of making their audience feel seen. It’s what we need from artists nowadays, whether we like it or not.”
“These are people who believed in me before the industry believed in me,” Laufey said. “I so deeply feel the weight of that. I look around the pit, and it’s like, those are people who spent so much money and so much of their time and energy to learn the lyrics and stand there and understand this world and listen to what I’ve put out.”
