**Los Angeles, CA** – Season 2 of ABC’s “High Potential” is adding fuel to the fire, both in and out of the bullpen, as the latest episode, “Behind the Music,” introduced a new character and complicated existing relationships.
Steve Howey debuted as Captain Nick Wagner, assuming the position previously expected to go to Selena Soto (Judy Reyes). Wagner made a memorable first impression on LAPD consultant Morgan Gillory (Kaitlin Olson) with a seemingly flirtatious elevator encounter. While Morgan appeared wary, the episode hinted at a possible connection between the two.
However, fans of the show remain invested in the burgeoning will-they-won’t-they dynamic between Morgan and her colleague Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). The episode highlighted Karadec’s keen awareness of Morgan’s moods, suggesting a deeper connection despite their contrasting personalities.
The introduction of Captain Wagner throws a wrench into the mix, potentially creating a love triangle. Showrunner Todd Harthan hinted at the disruptive nature of the new character. “He’s a bit of a chameleon, and he develops these relationships with each respective character that have their own DNA… You’re going to start to see these dynamics that he has with each perspective character. And that’s kind of the fun disruption that happens in the bullpen.”
