Wed Oct 08 09:10:00 UTC 2025: **Headline: Anisimova Claims China Open Title After Taming Nosková Fightback**

**Beijing, China (CNN) –** American Amanda Anisimova captured the China Open women’s singles title on Sunday, defeating Czech player Linda Nosková in a hard-fought 6-0, 2-6, 6-2 victory. The win marks a significant triumph for Anisimova, a two-time Grand Slam finalist (Wimbledon and US Open 2025), after a season marked by near-misses and injury.

Anisimova dominated the first set, allowing Nosková a mere 12 points. However, the young Czech competitor, playing in her first WTA 1000 event, staged a remarkable comeback in the second, breaking Anisimova’s serve early and capitalizing on a surge of unforced errors from the American to level the match.

The deciding set saw both players battling to hold serve, but Anisimova, currently ranked No. 4 in the world, regained her composure, cutting down on errors and seizing a crucial break to lead 4-2. Despite a late effort from Nosková, Anisimova closed out the match with a powerful backhand return winner, collapsing to the ground in celebration.

“It’s been quite a few weeks for me, for sure,” Anisimova said following her victory. “I feel like I’ve learned a lot about myself… I feel like in that sense I learned that I’m stronger than I think. That’s a huge win for me… winning the title is really incredible. I’m really happy.”

Anisimova’s path to the title wasn’t easy. After comfortable wins in the early rounds, she battled back from a set down in consecutive matches before defeating fellow American Coco Gauff, the No. 2 seed and defending champion, in the semi-finals.

With this win, Anisimova becomes only the third American to lift the China Open trophy, joining Serena Williams (2004 & 2013) and Coco Gauff (2024). She is also the first American to win multiple WTA 1000 titles in a season since Serena Williams in 2015.

Nosková, despite the loss, acknowledged Anisimova’s aggressive and powerful playing style. “It’s definitely her powerful serve that she starts the rally with,” she said. “Then she just continues to play as much down the line as possible.”

While the loss is a setback for Nosková, Anisimova’s victory provides a positive ending to a season that has seen her rise to the top ranks of women’s tennis.
