Tue Oct 07 02:00:00 UTC 2025: **Brewers Look to Extend Lead Over Cubs in NLDS Game 2**
**MILWAUKEE** – Following a decisive 9-3 victory in Game 1 of the National League Division Series, the Milwaukee Brewers are set to face the Chicago Cubs in Game 2 tonight at American Family Field. First pitch is scheduled for 8:08 PM CT and will be broadcast on TBS, truTV, and HBO Max.
The Brewers are riding high, with star outfielder Jackson Chourio recovering swiftly from a hamstring injury and returning to the lineup. “We had those off-days; we were ready to go,” Brewers second baseman Brice Turang said. “We were all talking about it days before, how excited we were and how great it was going to be. Setting the tone is a big part of it, and we were excited to get out there. And we’ll take that and move on to the next game; try to set the tone in that one, too.”
Meanwhile, the Cubs are looking to bounce back after a disappointing opener. “We’re down 1-0,” Cubs manager Craig Counsell said. “Nothing else changes besides that. It’s 1-0. I’m not sure we’d manage the game differently on Monday up 1-0 or down 1-0, so I’m not sure it does. We made it harder for ourselves. We’ve got to win three out of four now; they’ve got to win two out of four. Other than that, we’ve got to do more.” Counsell has named Shota Imanaga (9-8, 3.73 ERA) as the starting pitcher for Game 2.
The Brewers will counter with Aaron Ashby as an opener, with Quinn Priester (13-3, 3.32 ERA) as a possible “bulk” arm option.
Statistically, history favors the Brewers. Teams winning Game 1 of a best-of-five series have won the series 72.4% of the time. In Division Series with the current format, home teams winning Game 1 advance 74.1% of the time.
Counsell is starting Justin Turner at first base and in the leadoff spot against the Brewers’ lefty opener. Chourio is back in the lineup for the Brewers.
