Following a mobile theft reported on a BMTC bus traveling from Majestic to Banashankari on Saturday, police swiftly launched an investigation. Leveraging the victim’s phone’s location feature, officers were able to pinpoint the suspects’ whereabouts within hours. The two men, identified as Kavadi Parashuram, 34, and Saathipati Premkumar, 19, both hailing from Dhone taluk in Kurnool district of Andhra Pradesh, were subsequently apprehended. Police recovered seven stolen mobile phones from the duo.

According to Inspector Farooq Pasha M.G., who led the operation, Parashuram and Premkumar are habitual offenders who routinely travel to Bengaluru to exploit crowded bus routes. The pair would target passengers during peak hours, swiftly steal valuables, and disembark before returning to Majestic to continue their pickpocketing spree. The stolen items were then sold in the city’s grey market.
