**Tamil Nadu ITIs Offer Free Training for Power Distribution Field Assistant Recruitment**

**COIMBATORE, October 6, 2025** – Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Tamil Nadu are proactively engaging former students with a free training program to help them succeed in the upcoming recruitment exam for Field Assistant positions at the Tamil Nadu Power Distribution Corporation Limited (TANGEDCO).

The District Employment and Career Guidance Centre in Coimbatore has already launched the program, with similar initiatives scheduled to begin on October 11 in other districts, such as Tiruppur. ITI heads have been reaching out to alumni from the past decade, emphasizing that candidates aged 18 to 32 are eligible to apply, with age concessions available for individuals with disabilities, ex-servicemen, and widowed individuals.

A total of 1794 Field Assistant positions (Electrician and Wireman Trades) are to be filled through the Combined Technical Services Examination – ITI Level II, scheduled for November 16. Candidates holding the required National Trade Certificate or National Apprenticeship Certificate were able to apply between September 3 and October 2.

The free training program will cover Paper I (Tamil Eligibility Test, General Studies, Aptitude, and Mental Ability) and Paper II (Electrician and Wireman), both set at SSLC standard. Participants will receive free learning materials, access to library resources, and expert training in both Tamil and English, including model exams.

“We are committed to providing our former students with the best possible preparation for this important exam,” said an official at one of the ITIs. “This is a great opportunity for them to secure stable employment and contribute to the state’s power sector.”
