**Sinner Forced to Retire in Shanghai Masters Match Due to Cramps**

**Shanghai, China – October 9, 2024** – Jannik Sinner was forced to retire from his Shanghai Masters third-round match against Tallon Griekspoor due to severe cramps, ending his title defense hopes. The Italian was trailing 3-2 in the third set when he called for a medical timeout. Despite treatment from the physiotherapist, he was unable to continue, handing the victory to the Dutchman.
