**Jeffries Condemns Trump’s AI-Generated Video as “Racist,” Vance Dismisses Concerns as “Joke”**

**Washington D.C.** – House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries has denounced a recent AI-generated video shared by former President Donald Trump as “bigoted and racist.” The video depicts Jeffries wearing a sombrero and fake mustache, and also features a manipulated clip of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. The video was posted shortly after the leaders had met with Trump and Republican congressional leaders to attempt to negotiate a deal to avoid a government shutdown.

Vice President JD Vance, however, dismissed the criticism during a White House briefing on Wednesday, claiming the video was “just a joke” and an attempt to poke fun at the “absurdities of the Democrats’ positions.” Vance even teased Jeffries, promising to stop the “sombrero memes” if he helped reopen the government.

Jeffries responded strongly on Tuesday, calling on Trump to voice his opinions to his face rather than resorting to “racist and fake AI video[s].” He reiterated his criticism of Trump and Republicans on Wednesday, accusing them of engaging in “irresponsible and unserious behavior” and wanting to shut down the government.

When asked why he took it that way, Vance said, “Hakeem Jeffries said it was racist, and I know that he said that. And I honestly don’t even know what that means…like, is he a Mexican-American that is offended by having a sombrero meme?”

The White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was also questioned about another AI-generated video posted by Trump, this one promoting “medbeds” – a QAnon conspiracy theory promising cures for various ailments. Leavitt defended Trump’s actions, saying, “He likes to share memes. He likes to share videos, he likes to repost things that he sees other people post on social media as well. And I think it’s quite refreshing that we have a president who is so open and honest directly.”

The controversy highlights the growing concern surrounding the use of AI-generated content in political discourse and the potential for misinformation and offensive portrayals.
