**Dhaka, Bangladesh -** In-form batter Saif Hasan has been rewarded for his recent performances with his first-ever call-up to the Bangladesh ODI squad. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) today announced the 16-member squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, to be held at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on October 8, 11, and 14.

Hasan replaces the injured Litton Das, who continues to recover from a side strain. Parvez Hossain Emon has also been left out of the squad. According to a BCB statement, the 26-year-old right-hander’s inclusion is due to his impressive recent T20 international form, with hopes he’ll strengthen the top order.

The rest of the squad largely mirrors the team that competed against Sri Lanka earlier this year.

Captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, along with Najmul Hossain Shanto, Hasan Mahmud, Tanvir Islam, and Nahid Rana, are scheduled to depart for the UAE tonight to join the rest of the team.

However, left-handed opener Md Naim Sheikh is awaiting visa clearance, delaying his travel. Soumya Sarkar, named in the Bangladesh T20I squad currently playing against Afghanistan, also faces visa delays.
