Fri Oct 03 14:42:32 UTC 2025: ## Mysuru Zoo Roars to Record Revenue During Dasara Festivities
**MYSURU, October 3, 2025** – The Mysuru Zoo has announced a record-breaking Dasara season, attracting over 1.56 lakh visitors and generating a revenue of ₹1.91 crore. This marks the highest revenue earned by the century-old institution in the last five years, surpassing pre-pandemic figures and solidifying its position as a major tourist attraction.
While visitor numbers were slightly down compared to the previous two years, the increased revenue signals a positive trend for the zoo and the local tourism sector. Ayudha Puja (October 1) and Vijayadashami (October 2) proved to be particularly popular, drawing 27,033 and 27,272 visitors respectively.
“The Dasara season brings a significant number of tourists, especially from neighboring states, to Mysuru,” said a zoo spokesperson. “We are delighted with the response this year, which reflects the enduring appeal of the zoo and its contribution to the city’s tourism economy.”
The success of the zoo reflects a wider boom in Mysuru’s tourism sector during the Dasara festival. The Mysuru Palace also saw large crowds, and hotels across the city reported 100% occupancy. With the famed Dasara illuminations extended, stakeholders are anticipating continued high footfall until at least October 10th. Local businesses hope the authorities will maintain the security presence to accommodate the large visitor numbers. The Karanji Lake Nature Park also benefitted from the high volume of visitors during the season.
