**Canadian Theater Screening Indian Film ‘OG’ Targeted in Arson, Shooting**

**Oakville, Canada – October 3, 2025** – Film.Ca Cinemas, a theater in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, has been the target of two violent incidents in recent weeks, prompting an investigation by the Halton Regional Police. The theater, which was screening the Telugu film “They Call Him OG,” starring Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, was first targeted on September 25th when two suspects used a flammable liquid to set fire to the exterior entrance doors. Fortunately, the fire was contained, and no one was injured.

Just days later, on October 2nd, the theater was again targeted, this time by a man armed with a handgun who fired multiple rounds through the front entrance doors. Again, the incident occurred overnight while the theater was closed, and no injuries were reported.

While the motive for the attacks remains under investigation, Film.Ca Cinemas acknowledges “past challenges tied to Indian film screenings,” but has not confirmed a direct connection. As a result of the incidents, the theater has removed “They Call Him OG” from its screenings.

Despite the attacks, Film.Ca Cinemas has emphasized its commitment to remaining open and providing a safe space for the community. “We will not be intimidated by cowardly acts of violence,” stated CEO Jeff Knoll. “Our theatre is a place for families, friends, and the community to come together. We are open, we are strong, and we will continue to provide a safe and welcoming space for everyone.”

The Halton Regional Police are continuing their investigation into both incidents.
