**Karur, Tamil Nadu -** A devastating stampede at a rally held by actor-turned-politician Vijay, leader of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), resulted in the tragic deaths of 39 people, including nine children and 17 women, according to initial reports.
