**Reds’ Playoff Hopes Fueled by Surging Rookies Benson and Stewart**

**CINCINNATI, OH** – Outfielder Will Benson and infielder Sal Stewart, recent call-ups from Triple-A, have emerged as unexpected offensive powerhouses for the Cincinnati Reds as the team fights for a playoff berth. Both players have quickly established themselves in the middle of the Reds’ lineup, delivering crucial hits in recent pivotal games.

Manager Terry Francona has expressed the team’s need for young talent, and Benson and Stewart are exceeding expectations. Benson, who experienced a rollercoaster season, found himself back in Triple-A after struggling following the trade deadline. However, a renewed focus and a late-season call-up has reignited his bat. After weeks on the bench, a September opportunity to start in a game prompted him to hit a home run. His manager wants to keep him in the lineup as much as possible.

Stewart, only 21, has been vocal about his desire to contribute to the team’s success this season. He has impressed with his offensive production and versatility, competently handling first base despite limited experience at the position in the minor leagues.

“We’re trying to find spots for him to play because when he’s hot, he can be really dangerous,” Francona said of Benson. Of Stewart he said, “He’s swinging the bat. He’s going to be ok. Sometimes, you’ve got a good kid and he has got some energy and it’s good for everybody.”

The Reds look to continue their playoff push tomorrow, Wednesday, September 24, at 6:40 p.m.
