Sun Sep 28 09:40:00 UTC 2025: **Minecraft Live 2025 Unveils “The Copper Age” Release Date and Exciting New Features**

**Mojang Studios – September 27, 2025** – The annual Minecraft Live showcase delivered a wealth of exciting news for players of the beloved sandbox game, headlined by the official launch date for “The Copper Age” update and a sneak peek at the upcoming “Mounts of Mayhem” game drop.

“The Copper Age,” version 1.21.9, is set to launch on **Tuesday, September 30th**, introducing copper as a new resource that will reshape early game progression. Players can expect to craft familiar tools, armor, weapons, torches, lanterns, and even decorative chains from copper. Copper items will slot in between iron and gold in terms of protection, damage, and durability, offering a smoother progression curve. Also new is the Shelf, a furniture item functioning as both a three-slot item frame and storage unit, allowing players to store entire stacks of items.

The stream also provided a first look at “Mounts of Mayhem,” slated for release later in 2025. This update will introduce the **Spear**, a tiered weapon that can be used for quick jabs or charged for powerful, mount-knocking blows. Damage scales with the player’s movement speed, making it perfect for mounted combat or minecart maneuvers.

Perhaps the most exciting addition is the **Nautilus**, a new underwater mount tamed with Pufferfish. Riding a Nautilus provides unlimited air supply, allowing for extended underwater exploration. However, be warned: a Zombie Nautilus variant, often ridden by Drowned, poses a significant threat. On land, the previously Creative-mode exclusive **Zombie Horse** will finally appear in Survival mode. While the Zombie Horse riders are hostile, the Zombie Horses themselves are passive.

“Mounts of Mayhem” will soon be available for testing via Bedrock Preview and Java snapshots. Stay tuned for more information on the official release date.

In addition to the major update announcements, the stream included a celebration video for the “Happy Ghast” mob from the “Chase the Skies” update and revealed an upcoming “Dragon Ball Z” DLC.

The Minecraft community is buzzing with anticipation for “The Copper Age” and “Mounts of Mayhem,” promising a fresh wave of content and possibilities for the endlessly popular game.
