**Thiruvananthapuram, September 26, 2025** – Dr. R. S. Jayasree, a Scientist ‘G’ at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) in Kerala, has been awarded the prestigious “Women in Medicine” Award 2025 by the National Academy of Medical Sciences, under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
This marks the first time a scientist from Kerala has received this national recognition, given to women who have made significant contributions to medical and biomedical sciences.
According to a statement released by SCTIMST, Dr. Jayasree, from the Division of Biophotonics and Imaging, will be presented with the award on November 8th at the convocation ceremony of the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh. In addition to the award, she has been invited to present her research work at the event and will receive a Scroll of Honor.
