Sat Sep 27 01:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Boston Pizzeria Named a “Gem” by Food Network After Guy Fieri Rave

**Boston, MA** – A Boston pizzeria that once captivated Guy Fieri on “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” has been recognized as a true culinary gem by the Food Network. Dirty Water Dough Company, known for its eclectic toppings and beer-infused dough, was spotlighted on Food Network’s list of standout restaurants from across the country featured on the popular show.

Food Network praised Dirty Water Dough Company’s unique flavor combinations, including the use of gorgonzola, caramelized onions, and sliced steak marinated in Coca-Cola. During his Season 30 visit, Fieri was so impressed with the “Dirty Taco” pizza that he reportedly called his family to share the delicious discovery.

Owners Sam Sokol and Luigi Barrasso have since expanded their operation, opening a second location in East Boston. The restaurant continues to push culinary boundaries, offering inventive pies like the “Steak ‘n Cola” and brunch-inspired pizzas.

The Back Bay location (222 Newbury St.) boasts the weekend-only “Sammy’s Brunch Pizza,” loaded with mozzarella, a sunny-side-up egg, sausage, bacon, and green peppers. Meanwhile, the East Boston spot (20 Maverick St.) tempts taste buds with the “Burgah Bomb,” a pizza incorporating marinated beef, a cheddar mix, mozzarella, ketchup, mustard, and other classic burger fixings.

Both locations offer a diverse menu with sandwiches, entrees, and other unique items. For more information, visit their website.
