Sat Sep 27 12:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Verstappen to Make GT3 Debut at the Nürburgring in Ferrari 296
**Nürburgring, Germany -** Reigning four-time Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen is set to make his GT3 racing debut this Saturday, September 27th, 2025, at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife. The Red Bull driver will be piloting a Ferrari 296 GT3 in a four-hour endurance race as part of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS).
Verstappen, known for his passion for racing beyond Formula 1, earned his GT3 license at the “Green Hell” just two weeks ago in a Porsche GT4. This weekend, he’ll team up with British driver Chris Lulham, who races for Verstappen’s own team in the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, in a Ferrari sporting Verstappen.com Racing x Red Bull livery. He initially tested the Ferrari around the track in May under the pseudonym “Franz Hermann.”
“It is my passion to do these kinds of GT3 races too. I can’t wait!” Verstappen stated on his website. “I’m passionate about racing, also outside of Formula 1. Every lap at the Nordschleife is a different kind of experience. The atmosphere is also really good and there are a lot of endurance fans present. It’s my hobby to race in other categories than Formula 1.”
The Dutchman has expressed his long-term ambition to compete in the Nürburgring 24 Hours, with next year’s race conveniently falling during a three-week break in the F1 calendar.
Verstappen’s participation has drawn significant attention to the NLS event, which features a field of over 100 cars. Fans can watch the live stream of the race for free on Sky Sports F1’s YouTube channel, with coverage starting at 10:15 am UK time and the race scheduled to begin at 11:00 am.
Before returning to his F1 duties, where he’ll continue his championship campaign at the Singapore Grand Prix the following week, Verstappen is eager to gain experience on the notoriously challenging circuit.
The Singapore Grand Prix, where Verstappen will aim to close the gap to championship leader Oscar Piastri, takes place October 3-5, 2025, and will be broadcast live on Sky Sports F1.
