Fri Sep 26 02:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Relief in Sight for Gorakhpur as Rain Predicted to Break Oppressive Humidity

**Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh:** Residents of Gorakhpur are currently enduring a spell of oppressive heat and humidity, prompting a widespread longing for rainfall. However, relief may be on the horizon, according to meteorologist Kailash Pandey.

Pandey forecasts that cloud cover will begin to increase from Friday onwards, with the possibility of light rainfall in some areas. This anticipated precipitation is expected to bring down temperatures and provide respite from the uncomfortable humidity.

“Atmospheric conditions favorable for rainfall are developing in the Bay of Bengal,” explained Pandey, “and their impact will extend to Gorakhpur.”

The incoming weather system is predicted to arrive via Jharkhand and Bihar, reaching Gorakhpur by Friday. The increased cloud cover will limit direct sunlight, leading to a decrease in daytime temperatures.

“The reduced intensity of the sun will make people feel less heat, even if the recorded temperature remains relatively high,” Pandey added.

This shift in weather patterns could also signal the early signs of cooler temperatures to come. The maximum temperature, currently around 35 degrees Celsius, is expected to drop to approximately 30 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is predicted to fall to around 20 degrees Celsius. This could lead to pleasant daytime conditions and a slight chill in the air during the nights.

While Gorakhpur eagerly awaits the predicted rainfall, other parts of Uttar Pradesh are experiencing similar weather patterns. Lucknow is seeing a mix of sunshine and cloud cover, with residents also struggling with humidity. Meanwhile, Agra is expected to have clear skies and sunshine on Friday, potentially leading to a rise in maximum and minimum temperatures. Kanpur is anticipating bright sunshine with some cloud movement.
