**Dallas ICE Facility Attacked: One Dead, Two Wounded, Gunman Dies by Suicide**

**Dallas, TX -** A shooting at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas Wednesday morning left one detainee dead and two others critically injured. The gunman, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, took his own life after the attack.

The shooting occurred at approximately 6:40 AM local time. Jahn, described by authorities as a “sniper,” opened fire on the facility from a nearby rooftop, targeting a van and the building itself. Shell casings found at the scene were marked with the phrase “ANTI-ICE” written in blue, leading the FBI to investigate the incident as a targeted act of violence.

“These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off,” said FBI Director Kash Patel, referencing a similar incident at an ICE facility in Prairieland, Texas, in July.

Authorities confirmed that Jahn had a prior arrest for marijuana delivery in 2015. While the exact motive remains under investigation, officials are exploring a potential political connection.

The victims, all ICE detainees, were awaiting transfer to a long-term facility. One of the injured is a Mexican national, according to Mexico’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs, who is providing support to the victim’s family.

The shooting has sparked outrage and political debate. President Trump condemned the attack as “deranged” and urged Democrats to cease “rhetoric against ICE,” while Vice President Vance implied that certain political rhetoric incited the violence. Democratic leaders denounced the shooting, calling for an end to violence and dehumanizing rhetoric. Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, stated that the “killings serve as a wake-up call to the far-left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences.”

This incident follows a trend of increasing security concerns for ICE facilities, as highlighted by Al Jazeera’s Heidi Zhou-Castro, who reported an eightfold increase in assaults against DHS officers since Trump began mass deportations.
