**Jesse Williams Embarks on International TV Journey with “Hotel Costiera”**

LOS ANGELES, CA – September 27, 2024 – After twelve seasons as Dr. Jackson Avery on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Jesse Williams is taking on a new lead role in the Prime Video Italy original series, “Hotel Costiera.” Williams, who left “Grey’s” in 2021 but returned for guest roles, stars as Daniel De Luca, an Italian-American former Marine and problem-solver at an exclusive hotel in Positano, Italy.

“Hotel Costiera” follows DD, as his character is known, as he solves a case in each episode, all while searching for a kidnapper of the hotel owner’s daughter. The six-episode show features a ensemble cast, including Maria Chiara Giannetta, Jordan Alexandra, Antonio Gerardi, Sam Haygarth, Tommaso Ragno, Amanda Campana, Pierpaolo Spollon, Alejandra Onieva, and Jean-Hugues Anglade.

In an interview with Variety, Williams, who also serves as an executive producer on the show, shared his enthusiasm for the project and the opportunity to explore global creativity. He was drawn to the character’s dual identity and his ability to navigate different worlds. He also spoke about the importance of showcasing diverse cultures and stories on screen, noting the growing appetite for international content like “Money Heist” and “Squid Game.”

Williams also shared his involvement in character development, particularly in incorporating aspects of Daniel De Luca’s identity as half Black Italian and half American. He worked with a consulting producer, Trey Ellis, to weave subtle nods to this background into the character.

The show is co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Luca Bernabei for Lux Vide, the Fremantle-owned Italian company behind global shows such as “Medici” and financial thriller “Devils.”

“Hotel Costiera” premiered in the U.S., U.K., Italy, and several other territories on Wednesday.
