Wed Sep 24 07:00:00 UTC 2025: **Duchess of York’s Spokesperson Recalls ‘Hannibal Lecter-Style’ Threat from Epstein Before Public Apology**

**London, UK** – The Duchess of York is facing renewed scrutiny after details emerged surrounding a 2011 email she sent to the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. According to reports, the email, in which the Duchess described Epstein as a “supreme friend” and apologized for publicly criticizing him, was sent after a chilling phone call from Epstein in which he threatened to “destroy” her and her family.

James Henderson, who served as the Duchess’s spokesperson at the time, described the phone call to The Telegraph as “menacing and nasty,” stating that Epstein adopted a “Hannibal Lecter-type voice” and threatened legal action after the Duchess publicly condemned his actions and association with paedophilia.

“He said he would destroy the York family,” Henderson recounted. “He wasn’t shouting. He had a Hannibal Lecter-type voice. It was very cold and calm and really menacing and nasty.”

The email followed an interview where the Duchess publicly disowned Epstein and described her acceptance of £15,000 from him to settle debts as a “terrible error of judgment.”

The revelation of the email has prompted several charities, including the Teenage Cancer Trust (after 35 years of patronage), Julia’s House children’s hospice, Prevent Breast Cancer, the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, and the National Foundation for Retired Service Animals, to sever ties with the Duchess. The British Heart Foundation has also confirmed that Ferguson is no longer an ambassador for the charity.

Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died by suicide in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.
