Tue Sep 23 05:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Kojima’s “Physint” Still Years Away, Promises Next-Gen Tactical Espionage
**Tokyo, Japan** – Hideo Kojima, the legendary game developer behind the Metal Gear franchise, offered a glimpse into his upcoming PlayStation exclusive, “Physint,” during Kojima Productions’ 10th Anniversary event in Japan. While details remain scarce, Kojima emphasized that the game is still in its early stages of development, with him currently working on core concepts, character design, and casting.
“It is just the start,” Kojima stated on stage, following a supportive video message from Herman Hulst, CEO, Studio Business Group, Sony Interactive Entertainment. He described “Physint” as the next evolution of the tactical espionage action genre, building upon his previous work but utilizing significantly more advanced technology than even his upcoming Xbox title, “OD,” or the Death Stranding series.
While no release date or window was given, Kojima indicated that “OD” would be his studio’s priority before fully committing to “Physint,” potentially placing its launch several years down the line. This aligns with previous statements made by Kojima suggesting a potential release as late as 2030.
The event featured the first teaser poster for “Physint,” depicting a shadowy figure, hinting at the game’s tone and subject matter. Kojima also unveiled three confirmed actors who will be involved in the project: Charlee Fraser (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga), Don Lee (Eternals), and Minami Hamabe (Godzilla Minus One). Each actor shared their enthusiasm for the project via video messages. Kojima showcased a CGI rendering of Hamabe to demonstrate the visual fidelity planned for “Physint.”
This project marks Kojima’s return to the action espionage genre since his departure from Konami in 2015. He has stated that his aspirations to direct a movie are on hold until he completes “Physint.”
While many details remain a mystery, the promise of cutting-edge technology, combined with Kojima’s pedigree, has fans eagerly awaiting more news about “Physint” as development continues.
