**The Hindu Reports: Gunman Opens Fire at Amazon Facility in Columbus, Georgia**
**Columbus, GA – September 23, 2025 (5:40 am IST) -** A suspected gunman fired multiple shots into an Amazon warehouse in Columbus, Georgia, early Monday morning, September 22nd. The incident occurred before dawn at the facility on the city’s east side.
According to a statement released by Columbus police, the suspect, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, discharged numerous rounds into the building from outside. Following the shooting, a brief standoff ensued between the suspect and responding officers. Police confirmed that the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Fortunately, no other injuries or fatalities were reported as a result of the incident.
Columbus, Georgia, is located approximately 100 miles southwest of Atlanta.
