**Kanpur Dehat:** A wave of devotion swept through Kanpur Dehat on Tuesday, the second day of Navratri, as devotees flocked to various temples to offer prayers to Goddess Brahmacharini, the second manifestation of Adi Shakti. Temples across the district witnessed a surge in visitors who chanted hymns and offered coconuts, chunris, and fruits while seeking blessings for prosperity and well-being.
From the ancient Mukteshwari Temple in Musanagar to the Katyayani Devi Temple in Kathari and the Kalika Devi Temple in Akbarpur, long queues of devotees were seen since early morning. Similar scenes were observed at the Durga Temple in Rura and the Sammohini Mata Temple in Maitha, where devotees performed elaborate rituals and sought the divine blessings of the Goddess.
At the Pantha Mata Temple in Shivli, devotees participated in special rituals and consumed water from the ‘Guru Koop’ located within the temple complex, believing it to cure ailments. The entire atmosphere was filled with religious fervor, with chants of “Ya Devi Sarva Bhuteshu…” reverberating in homes and temples alike.
Specific temples, such as the Pathamai Temple in Rura, saw women offering prayers with ‘Chaukmukhi’ lamps, while the Baglamukhi Temple in Jyoti village witnessed long queues of devotees seeking relief from ailments and enemies.
