According to Arlington Heights Police, Samuel Alvaro Acevedo, a student at Rolling Meadows High School, was riding an e-bike north on Reuter Drive when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Grove Street. Police estimate Acevedo was traveling at 30 to 40 mph when he entered the intersection.
The e-bike struck the rear passenger door of a gray 2021 Ford F150 pickup truck traveling east on Grove Street. Acevedo, who was not wearing a helmet, was rendered unconscious at the scene.
