**Pune Traveler Arrested at Airport with Firearm, Ammunition**
**Pune, India – September 22, 2025** – A 63-year-old man was arrested at Pune International Airport on September 19th after authorities discovered a revolver and five live cartridges in his luggage. Chandrakant Prabhakar Bagal was preparing to board a flight to Varanasi when the firearm and ammunition were detected during a routine baggage screening.
According to police officials, Bagal possessed a license to carry the weapon within the state of Maharashtra. However, he was in violation of Bureau of Civil Aviation Security norms by attempting to transport the weapon outside of the permitted jurisdiction.
“The passenger held a licence to carry the weapon within Maharashtra but was found travelling outside the state (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh),” stated a police official.
A case has been registered against Bagal at Vimantal police station under the Arms Act. Authorities are currently conducting a full investigation into the incident.
