**Bengaluru, September 22, 2025:** Hombale Films has released the highly anticipated trailer for “Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1,” the prequel to the 2022 Kannada blockbuster “Kantara.” The film, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty, is set to hit screens on October 2nd, 2025, in Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
The trailer offers a glimpse into a fierce and brutal world, showcasing Shetty as a warrior defending villagers against a tyrannical king. The narrative is heavily rooted in folklore and faith, exploring the origins of the traditions and ancestral conflicts depicted in the original “Kantara,” which revolved around the Bhuta Kola worship in coastal Karnataka.
Hombale Films and Rishab Shetty have opted for a subdued promotional strategy, revealing the cast gradually, with Rukmini Vasanth playing Kanakavathi and Bollywood’s Gulshan Devaiah portraying Kulashekara.
