**Adilabad, Telangana – September 21, 2025 -** Police in Mavala, Adilabad have apprehended three individuals suspected of orchestrating a land grab scheme involving seven residential plots valued at over ₹2 crore. The suspects allegedly used forged documents to perform double registration of the properties located in Sai Nagar.

The arrested include N. Venkataramana (59) and B. Sanjeev Kumar (49), both employed by the government, as well as Ushka Malla Raghupathi (43), a former sarpanch of Mavala. All three are residents of Adilabad. A fourth suspect, identified as Duppalapudi Ashok, a former sub-registrar, remains at large.

According to police reports, the accused colluded with Ashok to fraudulently carry out double registration of the plots, which belong to an individual residing in Maharashtra, back in 2024. Investigators allege that the three individuals offered Ashok a bribe of ₹7 lakh to facilitate the illegal land transaction.

The scheme was brought to light after the landowner, identified as Milind, filed a complaint during the “Message Your SP” program, prompting an investigation.

Police are currently searching for the absconding sub-registrar, Ashok, as the investigation continues. This arrest underscores the ongoing efforts to combat land fraud and corruption within the region.
