**PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) —** Keith Altamirano, 52, of Vancouver, Washington, pleaded guilty in federal court on Friday to multiple counts of preparing fraudulent tax returns for his clients. The admission comes as Altamirano awaits sentencing for a separate case involving the attempted murder of his son.

Altamirano, who operated Integrity Investments, LLC, under the business name “Servicios Latinos,” admitted to falsifying tax returns for dozens of clients between 2017 and 2021. According to court documents, he inflated medical expenses, fabricated charitable donations, listed fake vehicles for depreciation, and created inflated business expenses. To conceal his fraud, Altamirano allegedly used “White Out” and omitted his name from the filed returns. Prosecutors say that his clients were unaware their returns were being falsified to secure larger refunds.

“Altamirano’s fraud helped build his business as customers recommended him to others to get larger refunds,” officials said.

Authorities estimate that Altamirano’s scheme cost the U.S. Treasury over $5 million in tax losses.

The guilty plea comes months after Altamirano was arrested for a February hit-and-run incident involving his son, Chris, who was seriously injured while riding a motorcycle. Police discovered Altamirano’s vehicle, an Audi, at the scene and found a large sum of cash inside. A family member later told police that Altamirano deliberately ran over his son with the Audi following a dispute. Upon arrest, Altamirano was found to be in possession of $10,000 in cash and a significant quantity of cocaine and fentanyl.

Altamirano has already pleaded guilty to attempted murder, hit-and-run, and drug possession in connection with that case. He is scheduled to be sentenced for both the tax fraud and attempted murder cases in December.
