Sat Sep 20 21:20:00 UTC 2025: ## Dark Horse Comics Announces “Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome,” a Horror-Themed Comic Series

**Night City, [Date]** – Despite a rocky launch, Cyberpunk 2077 has cemented its place as a landmark RPG, and now, its dystopian world is expanding further into comics. Dark Horse Comics has announced a new limited series, “Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome,” set to launch in January 2026.

The four-issue series, helmed by Tommaso Bennato and Doug Wagner, promises a departure from typical Night City narratives, delving into classic horror elements. The story follows a group of friends – a netrunner, a fire graffiti artist, an aspiring rockerboy, and an autotechie – who venture to a haunted landfill for a photoshoot. Their search for the perfect shot quickly turns deadly as they discover horrors beyond simple ghost stories.

“We wanted to create a true slasher story within the Cyberpunk universe,” explained the team in their announcement. “Instead of just quick eddies, this series will explore genuinely terrifying threats lurking in Night City.”

“Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome” marks the 13th limited comic series based on the game, with each previous series considered canon within the larger Cyberpunk 2077 lore. Fans are also encouraged to check out Dark Horse’s previous comic series, “Cyberpunk 2077: XOXO,” which explores gang warfare and Shakespearean romance within the setting.

The first issue of “Cyberpunk 2077: Chrome” is slated for release on January 16, 2026, with subsequent issues to follow. A complete compendium volume is also expected sometime after the series concludes. Prepare for a terrifying delve into the dark heart of Night City.
